But because my servant Caleb has a DIFFERENT SPIRIT and follows Me WHOLEHEARTEDLY, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendant will inherit it
After freeing the Israelites from Egypt where they were treated as slaves, God brought them to the land of Canaan, which is the land that God has promised them. Before they went in and conquer the land, Moses sent 12 spies to take a look at the land. When the spies returned, they all agreed that Canaan was a great land, but they did not think that it is possible to possess the land because the people who lived there were powerful. Only Joshua and Caleb stood up and said it was possible to take the land if God was pleased with them. Caleb was able to see things from God's eyes and he was willing to follow God with all his heart. God saw that as a good thing and He allowed Caleb to enter the promised land.
As we learned about the nations in Asia, we've heard that it is a big challenge to minister to the people. In some countries, Christians were taken into prison because they shared the love of Jesus. There were powerful people who did not want the Good News to be told. However, as God's people, we need to see things from God's eyes, and we need to trust God and follow Him with all our heart. Jesus said that "With God, all things are possible", so whatever challenges that we face as God's people, we know that God is with us and with Him, we can do it!
Each day this week, pray for the nations that we have learned (Indonesia, The Philippines, and Malaysia) and pray for the people there to know God and to experience God's grace. And also discuss with your parents and pray for God's plan in your life. Some of you will be become doctors, business people, scientists, engineers, artists, missionaries, etc.. Whatever your dreams are, God will use you to bless others. Nothing is Impossible if you trust in God with all your heart.
April 13 - April 17, 2009
"...With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
The stone that covered Jesus' tomb was about 13 feet wide and 1500 kg heavy. It was sealed and guarded heavily by Romans Guards. However, nothing was impossible for our God. He rolled away the stone and caused the guards trembled in fear. Jesus said in Mark 8:31 that He would rose again in three days. Eventhough man tried to prevent it from happening, Jesus' promise will be fulfilled.
God has a great plan for each one of us. But the devil tries very hard to tell us that God's plan is impossible. We need to believe in God's Word and to have faith that if we allow God to live in us, all things are possible.
Read the Bible and pray to God daily to know what God's plan in your life. Believe that God will do great things through your life. Whenever you feel afraid or inadequate. Remember that with God all things are possible.
April 20 - April 26
"Welcome her in the Lord as one who is worthy of honor among God's people. Help her in whatever she needs, for she has been helpful to many, and especially to me"
Paul wrote this letter to the people in Rome to honor Phoebe because she has been helpful to many people. This week we learn about the attitude of helping others. There are three things that we need to do to help others. First, we need to SEE and HEAR the needs, take time to listen to your family and friends, pay attention to what they need. Second, have a HEART to help. PRAY and THINK of what you can do to answer the needs, to help, and to make others' feel better. Third, DO it. If you want to help others, seeing, hearing, and thinking is not enough. You need to do something about it. You can help your parent in keeping the house clean, help your friend with their study... every little things that you do means a lot to those whom you help.
Wherever you go, see and hear the needs and discuss with your parents on how you can help.
April 27 to May 3, 2009
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you
This week we learn about hospitality. Rebekah offered good hospitality to Abraham's servant by not only giving him water, but also provided drinks for the camels and even allow Abraham's servant to stay with her family. In short, hospitality is not just welcoming people, but it is our way of making others happy. The Bible taught us to treat others the way we want to be treated. Sometimes it is hard to do what the Word of God taught us but remember that God is Love (God = Love).. When we do things with God.. we will do it with love. Therefore, we need to involve God in everything that we do.
How can we involve God. Each day of this week, read Matthew 7: 7 -8 and discuss what you learn from it with your parents. Think of something that you can ask from God to help you to be hospitable.

Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
It is amazing to see that each of us is masterfully created by God's own hand. And we are created to be God's hands and feet to serve others. Serving others is not what we need to do but it is who we are. That is why we feel good when we actually help others.
Because we are created to do good works, we don't need to think hard in find out how we can serve others. The Holy Spirit that is in us will tell you what you need to do when someone is in need. He does that by speaking to us through our heart. We just need to listen and obey.
Serving usually starts from your little community, your home, your school, your neighborhood. Two weeks ago we learned about seeing and hearing the need. Continue to do that and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in what you need to do to help and to serve.
